One of Bending Branch Winery’s signature grape varieties is Picpoul Blanc and this Wine Wednesday features its new release. Bending Branch planted this white grape, originally from southwest France, in 2009 because of its versatility and naturally high acidity.
Nicknamed the “lip stinger” because of its acidity, the 2023 Picpoul Blanc has notes of pear, lemon zest, grapefruit and honey.
Pair it with oysters, herb roasted chicken, filet of sole in tarragon cream sauce or salmon with capers and butter.
