The first wine we will feature is the Bending Branch Winery 2020 Estate Tannat, Lost Pirogue Vineyard. In case you didn’t know, Bending Branch Winery – known as the Tannat House of Texas – was one of the first to plant Tannat here in Texas. Tannat is a red grape known for its bold tannins, deep color and red and black fruit flavors that originated in South West France (Madiran AOC) and is also a prominent grape in Uruguay.
Grown from a one-acre vineyard in Center Point, Texas, the Bending Branch Winery 2020 Estate Tannat has notes of cherry cordial, pepper, tobacco, vanilla, ripe cranberry and cardamom.
Pair with your holiday tenderloin, mesquite-grilled porterhouse, stuffed mushrooms and brisket burnt ends.
