Bending Branch Winery just released its second reserve bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon from Newsom Vineyards. A reserve bottling is produced only when nature and the winemaker conspire to create something very special.

Bending Branch has been sourcing Cabernet Sauvignon from Newsom Vineyards for 14 years. Newsom Vineyards is one of the most prestigious vineyards in Texas because its high elevation (3,700 feet) and sandy, red clay loam soils over caliche limestone produce exceptional fruit.

In fact, the Bending Branch Winery 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon, Newsom Vineyards was the first Texas Cabernet to get a double gold at the San Franciso International Wine Competition.

Not to be outdone, this Cab Reserve just won Gold at the 2024 Texas International Wine Competition. Aged for 30 months in American and French oak, it has notes of cranberry, raspberry, cherry and cocoa. Pair it with a steak off the grill, bacon-wrapped dove, pork tenderloin and venison sausage.
