Hailing from the Italian island of Sardinia, Vermentino is a white wine with refreshing acidity that is a great alternative to Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay.
The Duchman Vermentino has notes of lime zest, pineapple, yellow apple and lemon. Pair it with roasted turkey and stuffing, seafood and cheeses – or as an apertif before dinner.
Bending Branch Winery 2020 Estate Tannat, Lost Pirogue Vineyard
In case you didn’t know, Bending Branch Winery – known as the Tannat House of Texas – was one of the first to plant Tannat here in Texas. Tannat is a red grape known for its bold tannins, deep color and red and black fruit flavors that originated in South West France (Madiran AOC) and is also a prominent grape in Uruguay.
Grown from a one-acre vineyard in Center Point, Texas, the Bending Branch Winery 2020 Estate Tannat has notes of cherry cordial, pepper, tobacco, vanilla, ripe cranberry and cardamom.
Pair with your holiday tenderloin, mesquite-grilled porterhouse, stuffed mushrooms and
brisket burnt ends.
Pedernales Cellars 2020 Family Reserve
The Family Reserve from Pedernales Cellars is a blend of some of the winery’s favorite grapes from their favorite growers and the 2020 is no exception featuring fruit from
Narra Vineyards, Pepperjack Vineyards, Daniel Vineyards and Farmhouse Vineyards.
This Italian blend is predominantly Teroldego with some Petit Sirah and Tempranillo, with inky dark color and velvety tannins. Teroldego hails from northeast Italy in the
mountainous Trentino-Alto Adige region and produces a deeply colored red with dark fruit flavors.
The 2020 Family Reserve has notes of black cherry, cocoa powder, tobacco, black pepper and vanilla. With nice acidity, this wine pairs well with food and is a great steak
wine!
