With nearly 5,500 wines from wineries representing various North American wine regions, Texas – and Texas Fine Wine – shined bright at the 2025 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Pedernales Cellars won Best of Class Award for Mourvèdre-leading red blends with its 2021 GSM Mélange. It also brought home Double Gold for its 2021 Tempranillo Reserve.

Also winning Double Gold at this prestigious wine competition were Bending Branch Winery for its 2021 Texas Cowboy Cuvée Reserve and Duchman Family Winery for its 2023 Vermentino and 2018 Aglianico.

Golds were awarded to Bending Branch’s 2020 Petit Verdot and 2020 Tannat Port Style wine; Duchman’s 2023 Roussanne; Pedernales’  2020 Teroldego, 2020 Tempranillo Reserva, Canted County Vineyards and its 2023 Viognier; and Spicewood Vineyards’ 2021 The Independence and 2017 Tempranillo Gran Reserva.
