Bending Branch Winery in Comfort pioneered the Tannat grape in Texas, making wines from what is considered one of the healthiest red grapes. Packed with polyphenols (antioxidants), this grape originated in Southwest France and is the top wine in Uruguay.
A big, bold red wine with lots of black plum, smoke, leather and earthy notes, this wine begs to be paired with steak, charcuterie and other meats. This year, it won Gold (90 points) at the San Francisco International Wine Competition.
You can order online from Bending Branch Winery (complimentary shipping on 3+ bottles) or do curbside pick up if you live nearby.
