While Sauvignon Blanc is not one of the more commonly planted white grapes grown in Texas, it does quite well in certain microclimates. Spicewood Vineyards is one of those special places where the soils and weather come together to produce a beautiful white wine.
Spicewood Vineyards has not produced this wine for the past three years because of freezes, disease damage and replanting of its estate vines but it is finally back this year and it has been worth waiting for.
The 2023 Estate Sauvignon Blanc has nice acidity and has notes of citrus fruit, pineapple, Meyer lemon and salted cantaloupe. Enjoy with fresh ceviche or Hawaiian pizza.
Available online and at the winery. $32
