Known for its popular estate Sauvignon Blanc, Spicewood Vineyards has not produced this wine for three vintages because of freezes, disease damage and replanting of its estate vines. However, Ron Yates got his hands on some Sauvignon Blanc from the Dell Valley Vineyards in far West Texas to make this 2022 white wine.
Located northeast of El Paso, Dell Valley Vineyards sits at around 3,700 feet elevation and enjoys a Continental climate, with hot summers, cold winters and dry air.
With notes of grapefruit, lemon custard and kiwi, this bright white pairs well with oysters or crawfish Nicoise salad.
