For this Wine Wednesday, we are traveling to far west Texas to Dell Valley Vineyards, which is one of the highest vineyards in the state, sitting at around 3,700 feet.
The 2020 Cabernet Franc is the first red wine that Spicewood Vineyards owner Ron Yates has made from the Dell Valley fruit. Spending 11 months in barrel (about 30% new French oak), the Cabernet Franc has notes of dried cherries, black cherries, stewed strawberries and black peppercorn.
This wine pairs well with stuffed peppers or turkey with cranberries.
