For our August Wine Wednesdays, we are featuring wines that we will pour on our Sunset Cruise on Friday, September 6. Spicewood Vineyards will pour its 2019 Blend 2 (that just won Gold at the 2024 Lone Star International Wine Competition) with its fanciful label that you will want to check out.
This artist series wine is a blend of Grenache (45%), Sangiovese (33%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (22%), offering a softer style red wine. The 2019 blend has notes of strawberry, pomegranate, white pepper and salted truffle – consider serving it with a slight chill!
This year’s label art, titled “A Nice Pair,” is from Baltimore-based William Wright who paints in a variety of styles with a fondness for surrealism, expressionism and bright color.
