We love a commemorative wine and this one is special. The Pedernales Cellars 2020 Cuvee 1853 celebrates the year that Jeanine Kuhlken’s ancestors first came to Texas. David and Julie’s mother Jeanine and husband Larry founded Kuhlken Vineyards – making this wine the perfect pairing for Mother’s Day.
The Pedernales Cellars Cuvee 1853 has been produced since the 2017 vintage and is intended to be a food-friendly wine. Every vintage is a different blend, but it is always medium-bodied with a broad range of fruity and savory notes.
The 2020 Cuvee 1853, a blend of Cinsault, Alicante Bouschet, Syrah and Mourvèdre, has notes of black cherries, dark chocolate, allspice, and hints of dried herbs. Pair it with mushroom dishes, paté, and cheese and charcuterie boards.
