Texas Fine Wine Participates in Austin Food and Wine Festival, Buffalo Gap Wine & Food Summit, TAPAS Grand Tasting, The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas Rare & Fine Auction, and Women for Wine Sense Grand Tasting
CENTRAL TEXAS, April 2, 2015 – With spring signaling the kick-off of many signature national and local wine events, Texas Fine Wine is making sure wine enthusiasts across the country and Lone Star State experience some of Texas’ best wines.
Texas Fine Wine wineries Brennan Vineyards, Bending Branch Winery, Duchman Family Winery and Pedernales Cellars recently won 18 medals at the TEXSOM International Wine Competition, including eight golds out of a total 23 golds awarded to Texas wines. All four wineries also were named “best in show” by Texas Monthly for “representing Texas wine at the highest level.”
Here is a look at some of the spring wine events and festivals where you can taste several Texas Fine Wines:
Austin Food+Wine Festival, April 24-26, Austin
The fourth annual festival features a Texas Two-Sip seminar led by Food & Wine Executive Editor’s Ray Isle on Saturday, April 25 from 2:15 p.m. to 3 p.m. Festival goers will blind taste through four Texas wines against their global counterparts to try and guess which wine is from Texas. Duchman Family Winery and Brennan Vineyards wines will be among the wines featured.
Buffalo Gap Wine & Food Summit, April 24-26, Buffalo Gap
This intimate food and wine gathering, hosted by Tom and Lisa Perini of Perini Ranch Steakhouse, features some of the top Lone Star chefs across the country and wine seminars led by Master Sommelier Guy Stout. Guests will sample some of the region’s finest cuisine from some of today’s hottest chefs, paired with wines from Bending Branch Winery, Brennan Vineyards, Duchman Family Winery, and Pedernales Cellars.
TAPAS Grand Tasting, April 26, San Francisco
The Tempranillo Advocates, Producers and Amigos Society (TAPAS) promotes Tempranillo from all over the world at this one-day grand tasting. Given the success of Tempranillo in Texas, the Lone Star State will be represented by Texas Fine Wine members Bending Branch Winery, Brennan Vineyards and Pedernales Cellars, as well as Spicewood Vineyards.
Wines of America, April 14, Washington, DC
WineAmerica and Winegrape Growers of America, in conjunction with the Congressional Wine Caucus, host a tasting of wines from across the country. One of the Texas wines to be featured is the Brennan Vineyards 2012 Tempranillo.
The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas Rare & Fine Wine Auction, April 11, Austin
Commemorating 30 years of charitable giving, the Rare & Fine Wine Auction will honor renowned winemaker Anne Moller-Racke of The Donum Estate. Pedernales Cellars will auction off a Salmanazar (9L) of its 2010 Family Reserve Tempranillo Blend with a gift certificate for two to a seated tasting in the winery’s Reserve Room. The proceeds from the auction benefit Austin Food for Life, Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, The Sustainable Food Center, A&M Agrilife Viticulture Lab, and the Texas Sommelier Association (TEXSOM).
Women for WineSense Grand Tasting, April 30, Napa
Pedernales Cellars will pour wines at this 25th anniversary celebration for Women for WineSense at St. Supery Estate Vineyards and Winery.
