This is a fun, yet serious, wine with the playful name Newseaux – showcasing Bordeaux varieties from the highly respected Newsom Vineyards in the Texas High Plains. With an elevation of about 3,800 feet, Newsom Vineyards sees some of the most dramatic diurnal shifts in temperatures in the region, allowing grapes to ripen longer than other places.

This Bordeaux-style blend from Pedernales Cellars is 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 14% Carignan, 14% Petit Sirah, 9% Malbec and 7% Tempranillo. It has notes of black cherry, black and red currants, eucalyptus and cocoa powder.

Pair this beauty with roasted pork and vegetables, venison and mushroom dishes.
